Maintenance Kit

Traditional Japanese sword cleaning kits from Paul Chen. Care and maintenance of Japanese or Chinese swords is necessary if they are to be preserved. The use high carbon steel in Japanese samurai and Chinese swords makes them susceptible to rust if not properly cleaned and oiled especially after use or handling. This kit contains the basic elements necessary for sword care. The kit includes choji oil, rice papers, oiling cloth, clear plastic oilcloth storage box, a brass awl, and a large uchiko powered ball for polishing the blade occasionally. Elements of the cleaning kit is kept in a hand crafted wooden box for storage.

Sword Oil

Paul Chen Hanwei Sword Oil made from the finest ingredients and designed for maximum protection. Paul Chen recommends this oil for use on all his swords. This is the same oil that is used to protect your sword when shipped from the factory.

Katana Carrying Cases

These one and two sword carrying case from CAS/Hanwei forge are made from heavy duty nylon.  The sword cases come with a carrying handle and a shoulder strap.   There is a large pouch on the front side of each case to store such items as cleaning supplies, tsubas, key etc.  There are two zippered compartments inside the case large enough to hold a bokken or two.
