古山 FURUYAMA SWORDS & IAITOS

Furuyama Swords are Hand Forged from high carbon steel.  Each sword is individually hand crafted and available in both 1060 series mono steel and dual 1090 & 1060 series folded steel.  The swords are fully functional and designed to withstand the rigors of cutting practice.  The first thing you will notice about the Furuyama swords is that they look like they might have come directly from the pages of a Japanese history book.  Although there were many different styles of Japanese swords through the ages, our goal is to produce swords that capture the essence and spirit of feudal Japan. This was a time when the Samurai warrior depended on his sword to carry him through battle. With divine guidance, the sword smiths combined the natural elements of the earth to labor the birth of a blade which was unmatched in the world for its ability to cut and withstand the rigors of combat.

Furuyama swords are individually hand crafted in the Japanese tradition of ages past.  You will notice that the quality and craftsmanship of our swords can be compared to that of swords found in Japan today. This is because the manufacturers we use actually sell their swords in Japan.  Furuyama swords have passed the rigid cutting requirements of the Japanese.  What you receive when you order a Furuyama sword form J-Armory is the same high quality product that our suppliers produce for the Japanese.

The sword making art in Japan today is strictly regulated, limiting the number of swords that can be produced by each smith.  This not only limits the availability of Japanese swords in the market but also drives prices beyond the reach of most collectors and practitioners.  By producing their swords outside of Japanese jurisdiction, the Furuyama forge is able to continue the rich Japanese sword making craft for collectors and Martial Arts practitioners.
