The
Pro Cutter - The Ameryu Family of Competition katana swords
 |
• The Ameryu Katana Family of Competition blades with 0.5 inch sori from Last Legend •
|
|
|
|
The
design of the Ameryu family is in response to requests made by certain
sansei and customers for a Tsunami/Dragon type of blade that would
incorporate some of our new improvements and a narrower sori.
|
The Ameryu katana family of swords is
a return to origins. Here is a sugata taken from the earlier days
of the samurai sword. After the Mongol invasion of Japan, a call
was made for more robust swords. The tosho of the era responded
by producing a sword to match the challenge. In the style of the
Kamakura and Nanbokucho period, here is a sword of authority. The
Ameryu cutter is wide at the machi, wide at the yokote, little niku,
chu kissaki, and a striking masame jihada in the folded versions.
Each
of the new katana families has 6 basic configurations. The blade
"design" is identical in each configuration within that family. The
difference between each is the blade material, the number of folds,
and/or the level of intricacy of the furniture.
All
Ameryu katana series: • 0.5 inch sori - Standard length - Blade 28.0 or
29.5 inches, available with or without Bohi at NO extra cost - Handle
10.5 inches.
All models have a natural horn throat cap.
All
folded blade models have a silk embroidered and fully lined sword bag.
Non-folded models come with Last Legend's dojo bag, a dark blue fully
lined cotton sword bag.
Available in Katana, Wakizashi, and Iaito models.

Many
companies have started to copy Last Legend's ideas (families of swords,
blades designed for specific uses, etc.). Of course, it is said that
imitation is the highest form of flattery, but the one thing that no
one copies is the blade warranty, now ask yourself why.

| With
most production swords, if you get a long handle all you end up getting
is a hand full of wood because they use the same short tangs on all the
handles (one size fits all). With Last Legend katana blades each tang
is custom made to fit the handle you've chosen. With a Last Legend
sword, you're always holding a massive amount of steel. |
|
|
Your Last Legend katana comes standard with a razor sharp
competition edge at no extra charge. To keep the edge you love get Last
Legend's Ultra-fine alumina ceramic rod. It's an ultra-fine grit stone
that's not made to sharpen, but to true the fine edge after extensive
use. The unit is 7 inches long and triangle in shape. The best way to
keep that edge you love. • $17.95 when ordered and shipped with sword.

*Last
Legend's Free "You Break It, They Replace It" blade warranty is
included on all 3000 and 4000 series swords. Basically, the blade is
warranted against breakage during the normal course of dojo practice or
competition involving the cutting of "properly prepared Goza mat or
like material". The blade is not covered if you try to cut a Buick in
half or if an untrained, non martial artist tries to impersonate their
favorite samurai movie; as much as they believe in their blades, they
know you can't overcome the laws of physics. The warranty is there to
provide the customer with peace of mind should they make the ultimate
mistake during dojo practice or competition. The warranty covers the
replacement of the blade only, and will be replaced with the exact
blade if that design is still in production, or if that design is no
longer in production, a blade with the closest geometry. The new blade
will be fitted to the existing handle and furniture. The warranty will
only replace a broken blade once during the life of the sword. The only
time limits to this warranty are as follows. This free warranty will be
in effect as long as Last Legend is producing katanas, or until the
founder of the company dies or retires, because we doubt that a new CEO
would be this generous--certainly no other sword company is.
