Maru Iaito by Last Legend Competition Blades
Take your training and
competition to the next level with the new Kaze Maru line of Iaito from
Last Legend. These Iaito feature all the options of the standard line of
competition cutting blades offered by Last Legend. All the handle length,
blade length, and color options of the shinken making such a name for
themselves in the sword community.
And now, you can have an
Iaito to match your cutting sword in every way. Weight, balance and
appearance can all be identical to your Last Legend competition swords.
All Kaze Maru Iaito
feature 1050 spring tempered steel blades (no temper line)
made to match the characteristics of your Last Legend Competition sword,
but with a 2 millimeter rounded edge. This means, if you have a Dragon
Katana that you use for cutting, you can now have a safe training
counterpart that matches your Last Legend competition sword for weight and
balance, as well as looks. Why off set your training in the dojo with an
Iaito that doesn't match the sword you use in competition? And why
compromise the safety of your classmates by training with a "live" blade
in the dojo. Now you can have the best of both worlds. And when you switch
from live blade to iaito, and back again, you won't be trying to
compensate for a weight and balance difference. Your performance will no
longer suffer from inconsistent training.

The Bear blade geometry is 1 mm thicker and 2 mm wider with a 55 mm tip.
The shinogi-ji is narrower than the Dragon's, and on the model with the
bohi, the bohi starts 3 inch's down from the habaki and ends 3 inch's
before the yokote (tip line). It will weigh in at about 1350 grams with a
balance point at 128 mm. The blades themselves have a low shinogi, the
Shinogi-ji is wider on the model with Hi to make room for the Koshi-bi
style Hi. The other model is a Iori-mune style (it tapers to almost look
like s false edge), plus a very steep oroshi.
